The Real Deal

Damn, Ray LaMontagne is just the real deal. Singer-song writer, talent, with the voice of an angel. It was like a magical time-bubble; with the art-deco beauty of the Chicago Theatre (despite the reality of metal detector and bomb-sniffing canine), the spare theatrical stage-setting, and the understated style of Ray. He isn't much for banter but his soul speaks loud and clear through his music. Rays fans are loyal but the reality that this magic exists in the digital world is apparent as the addiction to small screens is fierce. I witnessed too many of these dots of brightness as people checked their texts, weather, stocks, cat-videos, or whatever. I am really happy that I attended and kept my phone in my purse. I took my three sisters to the show who did not really know his music. It is safe to say, Ray has three more fans!
